Statement
Xiangying Chen enjoys employing formalism when discussing social design. With a formalist aesthetic perspective, she recreates natural elements, such as wind and stones, creating works that do not resemble existent natural objects. Due to her design background, she finds inspiration in furniture and playground structures. Through her work, she attempts to create interchangeable, irrational, and melancholic playgrounds for grownups.
